Sweetwater Cottage was completed summer 2013! You will love the convenient location and extra amenities of this custom-built cottage which is only about 100 steps to the beautiful, white, sandy beach.

With its 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a dining area and hammock on its large screened porch and ample covered parking, this beautifully decorated home can easily accommodate a family or two couples...but is still small enough for lovers on a romantic getaway!!

We also try to simplify what you need to pack by providing:

You can enjoy the sweeping Gulf views and spectacular sunsets from almost every room in the house or while you are dining on the large screened porch with ceiling fans.

Floorplan:

The GROUND LEVEL has ample covered parking and a storage room that contains the washer & dryer as well as a plentiful supply of beach chairs, rafts and beach toys for your convenience. There is also an outdoor shower with hot water and a fish-cleaning sink and a portable Weber charcoal grill with lid.

The MAIN LEVEL is up a short flight of stairs which is entered through a large screened porch that spans across the entire front of the home. The porch dining table and ceiling fans make it easy to dine 'al fresco' while enjoying the view...or you may just want to curl up in the porch swing and read a book or take a nap. The main level contains a vaulted great room that includes the living area with flat-screen TV and stereo and a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, glass-top stove, side-by-side refrigerator and pantry. There are 2 bedrooms: each has a queen bed, ceiling fan and flat-screen TV. The master bedroom has its own private bath with shower and a great view of the Gulf. The second bedroom is adjacent to a full bath that is equipped with a tub/shower combination.

Area Features:

As you stroll along the quiet beach, you can find a variety of seashells to collect or just enjoy watching the dolphins swimming by or eagles and osprey scouting for prey. Of course, swimming, sunbathing or fishing in the surf are always a favorite, too.

Our neighborhood is extremely quiet and friendly, with no thru traffic - a great place for families with children, or for anyone who just wants to get away from it all!

You may want to rent bikes or a golf cart and cruise quietly through the streets or on the beach. Horseback riding on the beach can also be conveniently arranged.

Money Bayou is just a short walk down the beach where you can catch blue crabs, throw your cast net or put in your kayak to explore the winding waterway. Scalloping in nearby St. Joe Bay is also a lot of fun during the summer scallop season. These sweet, tender delicacies can be enjoyed on your vacation or frozen for later when you return home.

In addition, the famous Indian Pass Raw Bar is just a mile up the road where you can enjoy the area's delicious oysters, other seafood and a cold drink. Weekends at the Raw Bar often feature outdoor live entertainment and dancing.

Our area is reminiscent of 'Old Florida.' There are no tall condos or hotels anywhere nearby! Our beaches are very quiet and pristine and, in the off-season, you will rarely encounter anyone as you stroll quietly along the beach!

Our home is located on the mainland, just 1.5 miles east from Cape San Blas - which has been rated in the top five of the best beaches in the United States. Port St. Joe is only 10 miles to the west where you can stock up on all the provisions you'll need. If you're not in the mood to cook, there are a number of great, local restaurants and night spots nearby. A golf course is only a few miles away and there are 4 separate boat ramps within 15 miles.

Just 20 minutes to the east is the historic and quaint fishing town of Apalachicola. Here you will find some great shopping as well as many wonderful restaurants and night spots. In addition, you can walk along the boardwalk and see what catch the fishing boats have brought in for the day.

We invite you to relax at 'Sweetwater Cottage' and enjoy 'Old Florida.'
